The Forgotten Railway from Liverpool to Holdsworthy - A special centenary exhibition

An exhibition commemorating the centenary of the construction of a military railway extending for almost 8km from Liverpool south of Sydney to a First World War internment camp at Holsworthy has recently concluded at the Liverpool Regional Museum.

The exhibition featured a number of interesting photographs, documents and other objects about the railway and the Holdsworthy Internment Camp, also known as the German Concentration Camp.

Internees were employed to construct much of the railway.

By courtesy of the Moorebank Heritage Group, selected items from the exhibition have been placed on display in the museum at Victoria Barracks Sydney to provide visitors with another and mostly unknown aspect of military history in New South Wales.
